Looking to boost Q4 revenue and gain yourself some exposure and client/customer loyalty this holiday season? Try a holiday marketing campaign. And before you say you don’t want to because everyone runs a holiday marketing campaign, consider this: Everyone does it because it works! With that said, a holiday campaign isn’t going to be successful by default. Your goal is to build out a holiday campaign that not only delights your customer base but also delivers lasting value to you and your brand or business.
The holiday season can be fun (what’s not to love about holiday parties, festive decorations, fuzzy socks, and cookies?) and holiday marketing campaigns can be just as fun. A good chunk of your target audience is bound to be into the whole holiday shebang, so go ahead and risk annoying the scrooges with your holiday cheer. Give it a try this year!
Here are some holiday campaign ideas to consider in 2022:
- Get included in listicle gift guides from other businesses/outlets. Oh the holiday listicles. Have you missed them? This year, see if you can get your products/services included in one or more of them! Think about which outlets or influencers cover your space and reach out. Ask if they’ll be putting together a holiday gift guide. Send a brief description of the product/service that fits best and why it should be included in their listicle.
- Craft your own gift guides. If you offer several products or services, you can create a helpful gift guide of your own that’s informative and gets your audience excited about what you offer. This also serves to help people determine if there’s anyone on their gift list who might be a fit for your products/services.
- Host a holiday giveaway! We LOVE this idea. ‘Tis the season to be generous. Give stuff (or services) away and it will pay off in the end. Bonus points if you collaborate on a giveaway with other brands.
- Send holiday or New Years cards to current and past clients, as well as prospective clients. This nice gesture lets clients know you appreciate them—that they matter to you and your business. P.S. Handwritten notes go a long way!
- Have a sale … or maybe a bunch of sales, like a dozen of them. This year, we’re loving the concept behind a 12 Days of Christmas sale. By offering a new sale each day during the event, you’re drumming up excitement, anticipation, and, hopefully, a steady amount of traffic as you share on your channels about the sale of the day for 12 days straight.
To help your holiday campaign be successful, don’t forget to plan ahead, do some research upfront to make sure you know what your target audience wants and needs, and review your past campaigns for anything you can repeat or do better.
A holiday marketing campaign is a great way to get into the spirit of the season, show some brand personality, and/or show your audience you care about them. At the same time, you’ll be gaining brand visibility and awareness, building loyalty, and driving sales too.
